Acne Scars

Acne happens when bacteria infection occur within clogged and enlarged pores. Such bacteria infection will lead to severe inflammation and these collection of pus are known as cystic or nodular acne. These tiny bags of pus within the skin may rupture causing acne scars.

 

Acne scars are classified into different categories. They are called different names according to the pattern they leave on the skin. Box car are pitted acne scars that lies in the shallow to medium depths in the skin and hence more responsive to a number of treatments. Ice pick scars are deep-set scars in the face that looks a plastic bag punctured by durian thorns. Rolling scars are also depressions in the skin which looks like a dough not completely flattened yet by a rolling pin.

 

Scars can be treated or improve once the active acne condition is under control. Acne scars will require multiple sessions of treatment to resurface uneven skin and reduce skin discolouration.

 

Certain treatment may lead to a short downtime of 3-5 days.

Subscision Of Acne Scars

This is a safe office surgery where a small needle is used to separate the scar tissue that are embedded below the scars. This minimally invasive procedure is able to stimulate collagen and promote regeneration of new skin tissues and improve the appearance of acne scars.

BB Thulium Laser(Sub-Ablative laser)

Thulium laser is a new technology that is more effective than the classic fractional CO2 laser that are commonly used for acne scar resurfacing. BB thulium laser is a less invasive, resulting in lower downtime and close to painless procedure that targets the superficial skin layer to improve enlarged pores, scars, uneven skin texture, wrinkles, and pigmentations such as melasma and aged spots.

Dermal Filler Injections To Acne Scars

Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid to fills up deep and pitted scars. It stimulates the body to produces collagen which helps in repair of acne scars. It is best to combine dermal fillers with skin resurfacing laser like BB laser in order to improve acne scars more effectively.  

Carbon Laser Peel

A highly effective laser treatment to control sebum production and kill bacteria within the pores. Debris within the pores will be removed leaving behind softer and clearer skin. Carbon laser peel is also able to improve mild acne scars, enlarged pores, and hyperpigmentation as well.

Chemical Peel

the mid to deep chemical peel can penetrate the epidermal layer of the skin to remove acne scars and discolouration with minimal downtime.
